Uptown Phoenix Ranch Style Homes built in the 1950’s have a definitive linear style, and while beautiful- they sometimes lack a little architectural flair. For this bathroom renovation, we opted for vertical shiplap with craftsman style trim, to juxtapose the more modern features (black finishes, hexagon floor tile). It was important to maintain the location of all plumbing fixures- so we demolished the original cast iron pink tub for a standing shower instead. We also chose a free standing vanity for visual interest, so your eyeline shows through the vanity legs. We played with polished nickel, and matte black finishes- with pops of antique brass for the sconces. The overall result allowed for more storage, better functionality, and a beautiful mix of French Cottage and Transitional touches.
